Hello Everyone!

the Tarpon have been biting like mad Dogs lately!! I am at a loss why there are so many GIANT Tarpon around. Since my last flats and fishing report we have been catching fish regularly upwards of 145+--100 to 125 pounds are common, they should be in the 70s to 90s by now ..

I have had 2 double headers even, catching a pair of 125 and 135 pounders talk about heart stopping excitement. Mixed in are big Barracudas, and even been catching a few of the prehistoric looking sawfish up to 12 feet in length—these must be released unharmed as they are federally protected.

I am not complaining at all. LET”S TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT! The rest of the backcountry has been good also—plenty of Mangrove snapper around, Small trout mostly throw backs and Snook and reds mixed in way way back in the park. SHORT AND SWEET FOR ALL YOU TARPON TAMERS OUT THERE THEY ARE HERE NOW!---Islamorada, bridges and channels and holes are crawling with the silver kings. been doing tarpon trips since the 30th of March and the fishing has gotten very consistant. The largest fish LANDED so far has been 135 to 140 pounds and we had 2 others on the end of the string which were considerablely larger--- the pucker factor comes to mind--LOL! One trip we caught and released 5 so they are here --Let& #146; s go gang and strain something. The backcountry is up and down due to the extreme tides and weather conditions --situation normal for this time of year, we are just moving from our winter fish to our summer stocks so we have to spend more time hunting them up--The snook , redfish and sea trout are stilling there and the bite continues to get better as the conditions get back to normal. Bones and permit are around and when you get one they are usually a large one. Large Mangrove Snappers are biting well most days and that tasty morsel makes for good eating in any of our area resturants who will cook them up for you.

----- EVENING SHARK FISHING-----4-8 pm It is the same cost as the evening tarpon trips but it will be for sharks [still have a chance to catch a tarpon at the same time] So let's hear from you, if you have an idea for a specific type of trip let me know if it is doable I will consider adding it to my list I still have good dates available so make your reservations –they are going fast—
