Weather here has been gloriously warm (70°-60° F) & a little windy. On Xmas it actually got warm & muggy, so I had turned on my AC.We're probably a lot warmer than where you are ( unless you're in the Southern Hemisphere), so why don't you come down & take a break!!!
 Wondering What A Keys Christmas is like??? - We have Boat Parades, Xmas trees, dolphins & palm trees decked out in lights this year. We don't have snow, but we have all the trimmings. |

The Queen Conch (pronounced like "honk" only "Conk") is the insignia of the Conch Republic (the Florida Keys). Natives born in the Keys are called "conchs"; people transplanted here from other places after 5 years are called "fresh water conchs". We invite you to become an honorary "web conch".In 1985 Keys residents barricaded the Jewfish Creek bridge into the islands to protest unfair practices by the Tallahassee government. Advocates of the Conch Republic wanted to secede from the union. This rebellion received mass media coverage & demands were met. Each year we celebrate the Conch Republic fracas as the Bostonians celebrate their tea party & the conch is still revered here, also as a protected species.
